9 Days Program of Georgia

City tour to visit “Old Tbilisi” – Metekhi church (13^th century), Narikala fortress (5^th fortress), Sulfurous baths, Synagogue, Mosque, Karvasla, Sioni Cathedral (6-7^th centuries) and  walking on the rustaveli avenue. In the evening, welcome dinner in a traditional Georgian restaurant, with traditional dances and songs.

Driving to David Gareji cave monastery complex located in a stark, semi-desert landscape. After seeing Lavra Monastery walk up for about 50 minutes to Udabno Monastery to enjoy its wonderful painted caves and dramatic views across to Azerbaijan. After David Gareji you will continue to Sighnagi, city museum, as called, city of love. Kakheti region is east part of Georgia, famous for its wines.   Overnight in Sighnagi.

You will travel in Kakheti region: visit Nekresi monastery (4-16th century), then stop at Kindzmarauli vinery, where you will have excursion in the vinery and wines' degustation. Proceed to a small village for lunch with local and traditional food and of course home made wine/vodka "Chacha". After all this, return to Telavi and overnight.

From Telavi you will drive via beautiful Gombori pass (1620 meters above sea level) to the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia - Mtskheta and its historic Jvari Monastery (6th century) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11 century) - both UNESCO world heritage sites. Then you will drive on the famous Georgian military road, on the way and stop at Ananuri monastery complex (17th century). The drive is very scenic in the Greater Caucasus. You will stop several times along the way to enjoy the views. Overnight in Kazbegi.

From Kazbegi you will travel through beautiful valleys and forests to Gergeti Trinity Church located at 2170m, with a beautiful view of the Caucasus and the city of Kazbegi. If weather permits, you can catch a glimpse of one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus - Mount Kazbegi (5047m). Then you will drive through the impressive Dariali gorge, direction to the border with Russia. In the evening, you will be back to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Departure and visit of the amazing Vardzia, the city in caves, founded in 12^th century. Drive to Vardzia via beautifull Paravani and Sagamo lakes, located at 2000 meters above sea level. Overnight in Vardzia.

In the morning departure back to Tbilisi, on the way we will visit city of Borjomi and its beautiful park, where you can taste original famous Borjomi mineral water, which comes directly from the ground. Then you will continue to Tbilisi and arrive in the early evening. Overnight in Tbilisi.
