Stintino is a small village located just over fifty minutes from Alghero. Bathed by turquoise sea, it offers one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia and Europe: Pelosa beach, consisting of white sand and 'Caribbean' sea. The beaches of Ezzi Mannu and delle Saline, the rocky coves of cala Grande and cala Coscia di donnad the ancient watchtowers such as torre della Pelosa, torre delle Saline and torre del Falcone are also very beautiful. Very interesting is the Tonnara Museum, which tells the history of the village through clothes, old fishermen's diaries, typical tools of the tuna nets and reproductions of boats.
Asinara Island: So called because of the famous albino donkeys that live on the island, which is a true paradise on earth. Famous for the maximum security prison that was established there in the 1960s, it became a protected National Park in 1997. It consists of a main harbour (Cala Reale), the Royal Palace, which once belonged to the Savoy family and is now the seat of the park, a small church and a single inhabited village: Cala d'oliva. This small island offers coves and beautiful beaches surrounded by blue sea. On the island, it is possible to visit the former penal colony, inside which, instead of a prison, there is now a museum. The Asinara Sea Turtle Rescue Centre and the FarmAsinara, where donkey milk soaps and cosmetics are produced, are also interesting and can be visited.
Palmavera Nuragic Complex: Built in a bay by the Romans between the 15th and 10th centuries B.C., called the Port of the Nymphs, this limestone and sandstone nuraghe is one of the most important. It has been defined as complex because it consists of several towers joined together. Specifically, it consists of: a central body with two towers, an ante-mural and a village of huts. The various parts were built in different phases. A visit to this very interesting nuragic complex will be truly unmissable. Drive back to your hotel. Overnight in hotel.
