Day 1 - AbCa's Creek Lodge
Depart from your hotel at 9:00 AM. You will be picked up from your hotel for the transfer to AbCa's Creek Lodge. On the way you make a photo stop at the cattle market, where goats, sheep and cows are traded. Then we go to Brikama, where you have a look at the colorful market. Many Gambians do their shopping here. Vegetables, fruits, fish, clothing, shoes; there is everything for sale. Then we drive to the lodge. Along the way you will be amazed by the lush nature. After arriving at AbCa's Creek Lodge, enjoy lunch, overlooking the river. Then it's time to relax: explore the lodge, swim in the creek or spot monkeys and birds from your lounger. In the afternoon you take a walk-through nature (approximately 1.5 hours). Along the way you will see many colorful birds, so don't forget your camera and binoculars! In the evening you can enjoy a tasty local meal.
Day 2 - Piece of pure and authentic Gambia
After breakfast you will explore the area in a 4x4 jeep (approx. 3.5 hours). A trip that will make a big impression, because you get to know a piece of pure and authentic Gambia. Away from the beaten track, past villages and through the beautiful unspoiled landscape. It is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with daily life in the countryside. You can see how women grow fruit and vegetables in the vegetable garden of the village. Your camera will be working overtime. Lunch at the lodge. Then time to relax or go out on your own. At the end of the afternoon, you take a boat trip on the river. The guide will take you in a traditional boat (hollow tree trunk) along the mangroves. You can see monkeys and birds along the banks. While the sun is setting, settle down with a drink in one of the chairs along the creek after your return and enjoy all the sounds of nature around you. This is Africa! Dinner at the lodge.
Day 3 - Bintang
This morning there is a cycling tour on the program (approximately 1.5 hours). Together with a guide you cycle through villages, you have contact with the residents and you see the people working on the land. When you arrive in the village of Bintang, you see how women prepare the oysters they have caught. After a last lunch in this beautiful place, the transfer will follow back to the coast.
