Laterza is a charming small town known for its friendly locals, delicious food and beautiful views. Taranto is a coastal city known for its history and the kids will enjoy visiting the ancient castle.

Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its unique conical-roofed houses and the kids will enjoy exploring the charming streets. Castellana is a beautiful village known for its impressive caves and the kids will love exploring the underground world.

Carovigno, where kids will live e memorable cheese-making experience! Otranto, a seaside town with a charming old town and a fascinating history that the kids will enjoy learning about.

Lecce, often referred to as the “Florence of the South”, is known for its baroque architecture and ornate churches. Day 1 - ARRIVAL IN BARI

Arrive to Bari airport and private transfer to your accommodation in Bari old town. Time to rest and relax.

Afternoon - Private Bari tour in Rickshaw

Visit on board of a rickshaw and with the help of a local guide, the characteristic narrow streets in the old town and its wonderful people. Discover its ancient and contemporary history among millenary churches, Castle, noble palaces, theaters and the monumental seaside.

Day 2 - POLIGNANO A MARE

Morning - Private Catamaran tour of Polignano coast

Enjoy a wonderful day of sailing along the Adriatic coast. The catamaran tour starts from the Cala Ponte Marina in Polignano a Mare. You will sail towards the historic center where it is possible to admire the famous Lama Monachile and the Grotta Palazzese. If the weather conditions allow it, the catamaran will stop near the cave (Grotta Palazzese) and it will be possible to visit the inside by sups. An aperitif with soft drinks and prosecco is served on board.

Afternoon - Enjoy the beach in Polignano

Polignano, one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, a little gem by the sea. Stroll through the characteristic alleys in this pretty town. The city that gave birth to ‘Volare' the famous Domenico Modugno song. Polignano offers a unique spectacle thanks to its various terraces overlooking the sea where the blue sky meets blindingly white houses. Spend the afternoon at beach in Lama Monachile.

Day 3 - MATERA

Morning - Private guided tour of Matera in Ape Calessino

Matera, the Sassi town, is famous for movies like “The Passion of Christ” and the latest “James Bond No time to die”. The UNESCO World Heritage-listed rock city of Matera stretches over a steep cliff, so exploring it on foot can be tiring.

Explore as much as possible without getting tired with this tour aboard an authentic Italian Ape Calessino (Tuk Tuk) with the help of a local guide. Zip through the streets of the historic Sasso Caveoso neighborhood to admire the main churches, rupestrian churches and public squares snapping photos of the famous cave houses and views of the surrounding valley.

Day 4 - LATERZA AND TARANTO

Morning - Majolica museum and laboratory in Laterza

Laterza was the most important town for the manufacture of Apulian majolica ceramic from the 16th century until the end of the 18th century. Getting involved into the majolica world is like diving into a timeless place. You will be a “craftsman for a day” in a spacious barrel vault room warmed by the heat of tuff. After a diving in the magic of MuMa (the majolica museum), you will try the experience of decorating cloth, wood or paper with the typical decorations of our pottery. And if you do not have enough, you could realise your jewels by shaping or decorating pearls.

Afternoon - Private guided tour of Taranto

Visit Taranto, one of the largest towns of Puglia, on a guided walking tour. Taranto is famous for having 2 seas, the Mar Piccolo and Mar Grande which are separated by a revolving bridge. Visit the Aragonese castle, the Greek colony in the Ancient Village and the New Town. A visit to the Magna Graecia museum MARTA is included. Taranto was one of the biggest cities indeed during the Greek Empire dating back to 3500 years ago!

Day 5 - ALBEROBELLO

Day 6 - CASTELLANA GROTTE

Morning - Adventure Park in Castellana Grotte

Enjoy an adventurous day with kids in the Adventure Park of Castellana Grotte in a magnificent oak forest, right on the outskirts of the town. The Park is characterized by captivating Acrobatic Paths suspended among the trees and is suitable for everyone. You will spend the day with your family and breathe nature and experience adventure directly in absolute safety.

Afternoon - Visit of Castellana Caves

Visit the “Caves of Castellana”, a vast underground system of karst caves, located approx. 1,5km outside the town of Castellana Grotte, is an important tourist attraction and is generally defined as one of the most beautiful and spectacular cave systems in Italy. The caves extend for 3.348 meters total and reach a maximum depth of 122m below street level. Inside the cave system, the temperature stays constantly around 16,5°C.

Day 7 - CAROVIGNO AND OTRANTO

Morning and Lunch - Local farm visit with cheese-making laboratory and food tasting

Visit a traditional farm with hundreds of animals where you will meet Maria who will receive you warmly. You will meet all kinds of farm animals being able to feed them. From the newborn goats and lambs, you go to the sweet cows and then to the beautiful horses you can all caress and feed. The real challenge only starts when you will try to milk a sheep or a goat. It may look easy, but it is quite difficult. This farm specializes in delicious cheeses.  As the icing on the cake, you will be served tasty cheeses from the farm at the end, along with a glass of wine and bruschetta with delicious tomatoes. You will have lunch at the farm. A private transfer from and to your accommodation is included.

Day 8 - LECCE

Late afternoon - Papier-mâchè class in Lecce

Explore the world of paper-mâché and the craftsmanship of typical artifacts of the Salento tradition, an expression of a century-old art that combines paper-mâché and clay to create sacred and profane statues.

The workshop, in addition to providing historical notes on the origins of paper-mâché, will give the unique, original and unforgettable opportunity to “touch” the production of art pieces, participating in the creation of statues in papier-mâché, thus offering the exceptional opportunity to deepen the knowledge of this centuries-old form of Lecce craftsmanship.

You will learn about the materials used, and you will experience the surprise of being able to create papier-mâché objects with your own hands.

Day 9 - SAN FOCA AND OTRANTO

Afternoon - Light trekking in Porto Selvaggio

In the afternoon, drive to the Regional Nature Park of Porto Selvaggio. You will have a private trekking with our guide. This park covers an area of 1100 hectares in the municipality of Nardò and is part of an area by the sea, where reforestation has been started since the 50s. The landscape, which used to be bare and rocky, is nowadays characterised by a thick pine forest surrounded by the wonderful Ionian Sea. You will enjoy an amazing sunset from the Torre dall'alto (Tower from above) overlooking the Jonian Sea.

Day 12 - GALLIPOLI

100% advanced payment by bank transfer or credit card (4% fee applies)

30% cancellation charge in the period from 60 up to 21 days before arrival;

50% cancellation charge in the period from 20 up to 8 days before arrival;

100% cancellation charge in the period from 7 up to 1 days before arrival;

Please note that for museums, attractions and any site where tickets are purchased in advance, the same will not be refunded.

CAR RENTAL T&C:

Unlimited Km, basic insurance only. A deposit of EUR will be charged at the counter from the car rental company and returned by the car rental company at the end of the rental period. Any fine taken during your rental will be charged to AuthenticPugliaTours which then will charge to the 1st driver registered in the contract between you and the car rental company at a processing cost of 120 EUR + fine value. In the unforeseen case that a service purchased from AuthenticPugliaTours cannot be deployed due to weather conditions or to impossibility from AuthenticPugliaTours' supplier/partner, AuthenticPugliaTours will inform the customer in a timely manner and suggest to the customer an alternative activity of equal or superior value that the customer can accept or decline at his own will. In case the customer declines the alternative activity, AuthenticPugliaTours will provide reimbursement on the customer's credit card (or through bank wire) at the end of the trip.
